Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesdsay September 3, 2013
In attendance: Beth Potvin (left 9:05), Mark O’Connor, Susan Novak, Jennifer Collard, Jaime L’Heureux, Rebecca Pratt, Patrick Fallon, Kelly Briggs (arrived 7:17)
Not in attendance: Katelyn Wojnarowicz

7:02 Meeting Called to Order Susan Novak
Acceptance of Previous Minutes from August 13, 2013 meeting
-Rebecca makes a motion to accept, Beth second
-All in favor (7-0)
Open Session:
Julie Kelley- discuss moving Summer Fun to Naquag
-would need to meet with Dixie to discuss
-need to decide by December
Reports:
By-law updates and next steps- Susan
-Selectmen want to see a comparison with old bylaws
-why would the treasurer sign off on already approved checks?-take out
-more specifics as to why to remove an officer
-quorum?- leave in
-disqualification- take out because it’s a law
-finance-maybe have a certain gift account?
-we don’t have charter-it’s a procurement
-Joe questioning why Kelly’s job is an appointment and Kaitlyn’s isn’t
-sit down discussion with Gary Kelleher suggested
-hold an informational meeting on the new bylaws
Safe-Place Director Update-Kaitlyn not present
-higher numbers than ever
Recreation Director updates-Kelly
-Zumba starts tonight--- 20 people… people with checks!
-fall basketball clinics- need more girls, but numbers are good
-swimming and tennis at Paxton Sports--- 6 for swim
-Yoga on Mondays 7-8:30 at Glenwood
UTLT programs- adults not happy about not getting 60-40 split
New Business:
Spooky Run Plan:
-change date to Sunday because soccer has field use
-provided with an officer and car free of charge
-Jaime still calling sponsors
-review t-shirt design/prices
-iron out details
Next meeting scheduled October 1, 2013 at 7pm in Town Hall Basement
